Tandem Adventure Along the Pacific Coast: From Vancouver to the Tip of Baja
Vito Rubino, Research Scientist, Aerospace, Caltech,

We will talk about our trip from Vancouver to Cabo San Lucas, at the southernmost tip of Baja California, following the historical path of "El Camino Real". Inspired by the first explorers and settlers, we went on their footsteps on a tandem bike. We will share our adventures going from temperate rain forests to redwoods along the rugged coast, till the otherworldly desert landscape of Valle de los Cirios and the heavenly cove of Bahia de Concepcion in Baja. Some anecdotes include breaking our tandem frame and risking to get stranded in one of the most dangerous and unsafe parts of Baja, (almost) camping with thugs and more.

The talk will be followed by a reception with free refreshments.
