Caltech Alpine Club hosts several public film festivals a year! We love to bring the greater community together to celebrate outdoor endeavors through films, games, prizes, and great conversations.

Since 2010, the Caltech Alpine Club has hosted Reel Rock -- an annual film tour featuring the world's best climbing films. Learn more about Reel Rock here.
The Alpine Club typically hosts Reel Rock each fall on Caltech's campus. Our event includes a pre-show reception with free snacks/beverages, as well as a main show intermission with free raffle giveaways.
We will be host the 2024 Reel Rock 18 Film Tour as an outdoor movie night on November 21, 2024. Bring a picnic blanket and cash/Venmo for tickets and raffle tickets. See the Event Page for details!
Since 2001, Caltech's Alpine Club has been a proud host of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Stopping at over 550 locations in 40 countries around the globe, the Tour celebrates the best films shown at the annual Festival in Banff, Alberta, Canada--one of the premier exhibitions of films about mountain and outdoor culture in the world. Each year, the Banff World Tour features epic films about skiing, running, mountain biking, rock climbing, surfing, base jumping, environmentalism, and more! The Alpine Club typically hosts Banff each March. As with Reel Rock, our event includes a pre-show reception with free snacks/beverages and a chance to meet our sponsors (local climbing gyms, search & rescue teams, etc.), as well as a main show intermission with free raffle giveaways!
The Alpine Club will host the 2024/25 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on Tuesday March 4, 2025. Check back in January for details!
We are proud to present No Man's Land Film Festival in celebration of female empowerment in the outdoors—all are welcome! Join us for a selection of films that Un-Define Feminine, plus engage in exploring your role in the outdoor industry and improving representation!

Tickets are available at the Caltech Ticket Office in person or online.
All proceeds of these film festivals directly support the Caltech Alpine Club. The club uses these funds for a variety of purposes, including buying sports rental gear to loan to people, hosting discounted classes that teach people about safety and first aid in the outdoors, and providing free public talks. Membership is free and open to the community!
